Silence: A period of time without speech or noise. Silence is also the appropriately named novel by one of the 20th century's best historical novelists, Shusaku Endo. Born in Tokyo in 1923 and having converted to Catholicism with his mother at the age of 12, Endo was no stranger to adversity and moral dilemma.
Endo is considered by many to be most popular and influential writers of post WWII Japan. Oasis Audio, in agreement with Audible.com, is pleased to announce the release of Endo's masterpiece, Silence, along with many of his other classic titles in CD format this spring.
This 1960's classic, based on factual events which occurred during 17th century Japan, and some of Endo's own struggles, has been masterfully revived by reader David Holt and it is sure to be a new favorite addition to your audio library. Read More
